Susanna Wong, LLB

Mrs. Wong received her primary and secondary education from Sacred Heart Canossian College, Hong Kong.  She received an LLB (Honours) degree from the University of Wolverhampton in England.  In 1988, she emigrated to Canada with her family.  She assisted in the running of a learning centre for young children from 1990 to 1997.  She has created, taught and implemented the “English as a Second Language” curriculum for Chinese students from the age of 5 to 12.  Being a dedicated mother of two children, she strongly believes that education is the key to the future.  Her valuable teaching experience and commitment to excellence will help children to achieve their highest potential.  She is chiefly responsible for designing the curriculum and developing the teaching materials at Bloom Academy.

Brenda Hsu, M.S.

Ms. Brenda Hsu received her primary and secondary education from Sacred Heart Canossian College, Hong Kong.  She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley, USA.  After working for four years in the medical research fields in Hong Kong and California, she returned to graduate school at the University of Texas, Health Science Center at Houston, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. During her studies, she received the American Legion Auxiliary Fellowship and the Rosalie B. Hite Fellowship and was the author of nine published scientific articles.  In 1995, she became a Senior Research Assistant at the Department of Biochemistry of the Hong Kong University.   Ms. Hsu presently devotes part of her time doing voluntary work at Mother’s Choice.  She strong believes that giving one’s time to better the community can bring immeasurable satisfaction.  She enjoys working with children and is the brain power behind Bloom Academy’s recent sweeping success at the Hong Kong Schools Speech Festival.

Vivian Ip, M.S.W.

Ms. Ip received her primary and secondary education in both Hong Kong and Canada, where she experienced the local, international and Canadian curriculum and school systems.  During her childhood, she won various awards in speech contests and at the Hong Kong Schools Speech Festival.  Upon obtaining an undergraduate degree from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada, she continued onwards to earn her Master of Social Work from the University of Hong Kong.  From 1998 to 2003, Ms. Ip was involved in designing and teaching English programs in both local and international schools.  Her philosophy includes the belief that every child has a potential that needs to be discovered and encouraged, and that each child’s personality and ability is valued.  With over 15 years of experience in working directly with gifted children and children with special needs, she hopes to enable every child to learn in a healthy, educational environment filled with fun and laughter.

Alice Lui, BA & CFA

Ms. Lui received her kindergarten, primary and secondary education from Sacred Heart Canossian College, Hong Kong. After finishing Form 5, she was awarded a full scholarship to attend Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts, USA.  She received a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in Economics with a minor in Mathematics, from Washington University in USA.  Together with Mrs. Susanna Wong, she founded Bloom Academy In 2001.  Prior to that, she was an Investment Manager and Executive Director at Goldman, Sachs & Co. for over ten years. Ms. Lui previously served as Co-Chairperson of the Alumni & Parents Admission Program Committee of Washington University, actively interviewing potential applicants in Hong Kong on behalf of Washington University.  She is the brain power behind Bloom Academy’s sweeping success at the Hong Kong Schools Speech Festival.
